Dark Grains started in a Fort Worth garage with a stack of hardwood, a laser engraver, and a long list of terrible-but-perfect one-liners. What began as gifts for friends turned into a full collection of boards, boxes, ornaments and keepsakes for people who love to host.
As the shop grows, so will the collections — subscription boxes, seasonal releases, and new artwork — but the mission stays the same: help people gather, celebrate, and make meaningful memories, one handcrafted piece at a time.

Every board is cut, sanded, and precision laser engraved in our Fort Worth workshop. The design is burned into the grain, so it never peels, cracks, or fades — it just gets richer with use.

Yes. Almost every board, coaster, and sign can be personalized with a name, date, or your own phrase. Send a message with what you have in mind and we will confirm details and pricing before we start.
Ready-made pieces usually ship within 2–3 business days. Custom engraved orders take about 5–7 business days, depending on the design and how busy the workshop is.
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, dry immediately, and never soak it or put it in the dishwasher. A light coat of food-safe mineral oil every month or so keeps the grain rich and protected.
